Interessen

• Beruflicher Werdegang:
• Studium des konstruktiven Maschinenbaus sowie der Elektrotechnik und Promotion 1978 an der Universität Bochum auf dem Gebiet von Multi-Mikroprozessorsystemen für Echtzeitanwendungen.
• Von 1979 bis 1991 in verschiedenen Funktionen bei der Firma ‘Philips Telecommunication and Datasystems' tätig, u.a. als Leiter der Vorentwicklung, Leiter eines Competence Centre für ‘Expert Systems’ und für 'CD & Multimedia Technology’ sowie als Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung der PKI AG, Siegen.
• Von 1991 bis 1995 verantwortlich für das europäische Business und Projekt Zentrum für ‘CD and Multimedia Technology’ der Digital Equipment Corporation, USA.
• Seit 1995 Inhaber des Heinz-Nixdorf Stiftungslehrstuhls für Multimediatechnik der Fakultät Informatik an der TU Dresden und Direktor des Institutes für Software- und Multimediatechnik. Die Forschungsinteressen liegen auf dem Gebiet
• intelligenter, adaptiver Softwaresysteme, insbesondere für mobile und Internet-basierte Anwendungen,
